The natural world speaks to us in countless ways - through the rustle of sagebrush, the flow of the Columbia River, and the whisper of wind across the Tri-Cities landscape. This Earth Day, I'm thrilled to invite you to discover your own voice in this ongoing conversation with our planet.

Join me, Impact Poet Ms. JuruDaWise (Janiece Spence), at the REACH Museum on Earth Day for "Spoken Earth: Finding Voice in Nature's Story"—an" interactive workshop where environmental awareness meets creative expression.

What to Expect

This isn't your typical poetry workshop! Together, we'll explore our connection to the Earth through multiple sensory experiences:

  • Create personal "Environmental Memory Maps" connecting your life journey to special natural places

  • Collaborate on a "Voice of the Land" poem that speaks from the perspective of local plants, animals, and landmarks

  • Engage with museum exhibits through creative writing prompts that reveal hidden stories

  • Experience the elements through hands-on outdoor stations focused on water, earth, air, and sun

  • Take home native seed poetry packets to continue your creative and environmental journey

We'll weave together diverse cultural perspectives on environmental stewardship, highlight local ecology, and create a space where your unique relationship with nature finds its voice.

As founder of A Spoken Space and author of "Poetry for the 23rd Century," I'm passionate about creating transformative experiences where diverse voices feel safe to express themselves. No previous writing experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and willingness to explore!
